Arthur “Art” Culver, age 88 years, of La Palma, CA; formerly of Oakfield, WI was called home to be with the Lord on November 20, 2020.
Art was born on June 16, 1932 in Oakfield to Les and Winnie Culver (Nummerdor). He was drafted into the United States Army on December 2, 1952. Art served in the Engineer Corp during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on December 1, 1954.
Art was united in marriage on June 5, 1954 to Jeanne Marie Bird at the Oakfield Methodist Church. In August of 1955, the couple moved to Menomonie, WI where Art attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Stout (1959).
Art spent thirty years teaching Industrial Education in Wisconsin and California. Most of the time he taught junior high and high school in Lynwood, CA. In the sixties during summers, he worked as a prop maker in Hollywood for major Television and Movie Studios.
Those Art leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 66 years, Jeanne; three sons, Jerry (Carla) Culver, John Culver, and Curt Culver; brothers, Bob (Ginny) Culver; and sister-in-law, Donna Culver. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by three brothers, Wally (Bernice) Pater, Lee (Sandy) Culver, and Ron Culver; and sister, Shirley (Jack) Kaufman.
Funeral Service for Art will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Myrhum Patten Miller Kietzer Funeral Home (350 Main St. – Lomira, WI 53048) with Pastor Rom Pegram officiating. Interment at Avoca Cemetery in Oakfield following the service.
Art’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of service. The video of the service will be posted on our website at www.myrhum-patten.com.
