Alan H. Buttke, age 62, of West Bend, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee.
He was born on April 4, 1950 in Black River Falls to the late Harry and Donnah (nee Larson) Buttke. Al served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He lived in Jackson before moving to West Bend in 1978.
He worked at Schlief's, Goodyear Tire, and Wallas Wheel & Tire.as a mechanic. Al was a member of the American Motors Car Club and raced cars at Slinger Speedway and Great Lakes Dragway. He also enjoyed playing the electric guitar.
Al is survived by his son, Dean (fiancAC.e, Cassi Griepentrog) Buttke of Slinger; his sister, Alana (Leslie) Dalton of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service in remembrance of Al will be held on Monday, February 18th at 2:30 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington Street, West Bend. Rev. Jeremy Deaner will be officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 1:30 pm until the time of the service.
