Albert "Bud" Asch

Albert J. "Bud" Asch, age 79, of the Town of Wayne, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at his residence.

He was born on September 22, 1932, in Ludlow, KY to the late Albert G. and Lucille (nee Jenkins) Asch. Bud attended Ludlow High School and went on to attend the University of Kentucky - Lexington where he earned his Bachelors in Music Education. On June 12, 1954, he was united in marriage to Anna Akers in Carrollton, KY. Bud then served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1955-1956 playing in the military band. After serving in the army, he taught music at Dupont Manuel High School in Louisville, KY. Bud went on to earn his Masters in Music from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He then began teaching at the University of Kansas - Wichita. In 1968 Bud and his family moved to West Bend where he began teaching at UW-Washington County until 1997. He loved teaching music and received the teacher of the year award many times. He was the Kettle Moraine Symphony's Orchestra Founder and Director Emeritus, and the director of the Lake Shore Band.

Bud was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Kohlsville, and Pleasant Valley Tennis Club. He enjoyed photography, woodworking, caring for his apple orchard and gardens at home, and riding his motorcycle.

Bud is survived by his wife, Anna Asch; four children, Glenn (Laurie) Asch, Dan (Masayo) Asch, David (Sheryl) Asch and Carol (Randy) Stubbs; 11 grandchildren, Andrew, Charlie, Eric (Janelle), Ariel, Carrie, Megan, Haley, Marissa, Nathan, Devon, and Alex; sister, Mary Lou (Russell) Asch Ross; extended family including, Kristin Hillman (Patrick) Wanzeck, Pat (Ann Marie) Rian Wanzeck, Jade Wilder, Andrea (Dennis) Bartsch, George (Barbara) Staerkel; other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Laura Staerkel; and parents-in-law, Dewey and Harriet Akers.

A memorial service in remembrance of Bud will be held on Tuesday, April 17th at 7:00 pm at St. John's United Church of Christ, County Road WW and Beaver Dam Road, with Rev. Bret Myers officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 5:00 pm until the time of the service. A reception will follow the service.
