Albert D. Skinner, age 88, of West Bend, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 31, 1921 in Ladysmith to the late Allison and Harriet (nee Woodbury) Skinner. Albert served his country during WWII by enlisting in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Jane Koehler on March 19, 1962 in Waukegan, IL. They lived in Milwaukee while summering on Silver Lake. In 1964 they moved to Silver Lake. Albert was a manager of stevedore operations for the Stearns Milwaukee Marine Terminal in Milwaukee for many years until his retirement in 1986.
Albert is survived by his six children, Allison Skinner, Patrice (Bob) Sprague, Elaine Kordus, Louise Smith, Sally Hootman, Katherine Radke, and Michael (Jean) Rogers; his two grandchildren, Timothy Wellner and Tracy Wellner; and his two great-grandchildren, Alicia and Kaylee. He is further survived by his sister, Gladys Roach; his brother Frank Skinner; and many other dear relatives and close friends.
Albert was preceded in death by his wife Jane; his daughter Nora; his sister Mabel; and his two brothers Everet and Raymond.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 4, at 2:30pm at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend. Rev. Francis Baiocchi will officiate and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 12:30pm until the time of service.
