Albert C. “Al” Wagner, 88, of the town of Auburn, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
He was born on March 16, 1923, in Campbellsport, the son of the late William and Bertha (Kutz) Wagner, and on October 4, 1952, he was united in marriage to Lorena “Lucky” Wagner at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee.
Al proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force during World War II. He was employed as a mechanic for Johnson School Bus and was a member of First Baptist Church in Campbellsport. Al will fondly be remembered for his gardening abilities, as he could get anything to grow.
Those Al leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Lorena Wagner; two daughters, Karen Wagner of Shoreline, Washington and Maxine Wagner and her husband, Michael of West Bend, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by six brothers, Frank, Walter, William, Herman, Henry and Wilbert Wagner and three sisters, Anna Ebert, Rosella Ebert and Mary Voight.
Funeral services for Al were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2011, at First Baptist Church, 326 E. Main Street in Campbellsport. Pastor David Nothem officiated and burial, with military honor rites, followed in Union Cemetery in Campbellsport.
Relatives and friends called at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials to First Baptist Church are appreciated.
