Albertia McCabe, 91, went to her heavenly home on May 29, 2014. She was residing at Cedar Lake Community in West Bend.
Albertia came to Chicago after graduating high school in Aurora, NE. It was here she met the love of her life, John McCabe. They made their life together in Bellwood, IL and then in Riverside, IL where she lived for 53 years. She was a member of the Riverside Presbyterian Church where she was actively involved as a church officer, helped with the youth, and provided the church with fresh floral arrangements during the summer months. She was a member of Riverside Garden Club, Friends of Library, Riverside Swim Club, and Riverside Protestant League. Her hobbies were sewing, gardening, baking, sitting on her front porch with friends, and entertaining friends in her home.
She is survived by daughters, Nancy McCabe Goble of Wichita, KS and Judy (Jim) McCabe Krudwig of West Bend, WI; son, Jeff (Deanne) McCabe of Bloomington, MN; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Agnes (Berdean) Kohtz of Hampton, NE; sister-in-law, Marilyn Hawley of Eaton, OH.
Albertia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John McCabe; parents, John & Ona (Brown) Oberg; sisters, LaReah McDermott, Martha DeZuba, and June Falk; and brother, John Oberg.
Memorial services will be held at Riverside Presbyterian Church, Riverside, IL on Monday June 16th at 10 am. Interment will be at Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton, OH.
