Albion J. “Fuzzy” Lehnerz, 87, of St. Michaels, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.
He was born on March 6, 1920, in the town of Kewaskum, the son of the late John and Barbara (Schneider) Lehnerz, and on September 30, 1950, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Troedel at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. His wife preceded him in death on October 4, 2006.
Albion farmed in the town of Kewaskum for a period of time and in the town of Auburn until 1976. He was a milk hauler for many years and was employed by FS Feed Mill until 1985.
Albion was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Michaels, the St. Vincent De Paul Society and the Kewaskum XYZ Card Club. He was an avid sheepshead player, enjoyed gardening and will be fondly remembered as being quick with a joke.
Survivors include five children, Christine (Roland) Stautz, John (Kathy) Lehnerz and Steven (Diane) Lehnerz all of West Bend, Paul (Lori) Lehnerz of Kewaskum and Jeff (Debbie) Lehnerz of West Bend; 12 grandchildren, Jonathan (Vicki) Lehnerz, Jarrod (Andrea) Lehnerz, Barbara (Christopher) Farrier, Regina, Joseph, Shannon, Jennifer, Adam, Sara, Brittany, Michael and Amanda Lehnerz; two sisters, Mercedes Hetebrueg of West Bend and Joan White of Sheboygan, eight great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Albion was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lehnerz; his twin sister, Genevieve Lehnerz; a brother, Harold Lehnerz and two brothers-in-law, Robert Hetebrueg and Cecil White.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Albion was held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2008, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 8877 Forest View Road, Kewaskum (St. Michaels). Father Edwin Kornath officiated and burial was at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends called on Monday at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Michael’s Catholic Church were appreciated.
