Aleta Joan (Maurer) Larson

December 27, 1947 — September 15, 2023

Aleta Joan Larson (nee Maurer), age 75 years, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 15, 2023. She was born on December 27, 1947, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, she was the beloved daughter of Gerald and Margaret (nee Sandkamp) Maurer.

Aleta's journey through life was filled with purpose and achievement. After graduating from Tech High School in St. Cloud in 1965, she earned an Associate Degree in Business from Anoka Hennepin Community College. Her professional path led her to Ryerson Steel Manufacturing Corporation, where she devoted her time and talents before retiring.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Aleta exuded a zest for life. With dirt on her hands and the warmth of the sun on her face, she found solace in tending her garden. Walks in nature brought her joy, as did lively gatherings with her cherished monthly game group (where she loved to WIN).

Aleta's creative flair shone through her sewing and cake decorating skills. Aleta used her expertise volunteering with the Washington County 4-H cake decorating program. However, above all, her heart resided with her family, and she embraced her role as the best mother and grandmother.

Aleta was a member of Northbrook Church in Richfield, Wisconsin, and had been a long-time member of Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

Left behind to cherish Aleta's memory is her daughter and best friend, Monica (Matthew) Lohry of Slinger, Wisconsin. Samuel, Mitchell, and Lucille Lohry, the lights of her life, will profoundly miss their beloved grandmother. Aleta's siblings, Michele (the late Howard) Heuckendorf, David (Connie Brannan) Maurer, Richard (Michelle) Maurer, and Jeneen (Marvin) Wipper, will forever hold her in their hearts. Aleta also leaves behind former husband and Monica's father, Ronald (Karen) Larson.  Aleta is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, a ton of dear friends, and her cherished feline companion, Inky.

Awaiting Aleta in Heaven are her parents; her infant brother, Leon; and nephew, Talon Maurer who preceded her in death.
