Alexander M. “Alex” Kuciauskas, 97, of Beechwood, formerly of rural Campbellsport, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at the Beechwood Rest Home in Beechwood.
He was born on June 20, 1914, in Sheboygan, the son of the late Mathue and Veronica Kuciauskas, and on March 23, 1958, he was united in marriage to Gloria Kleist. Gloria preceded Alex in death on May 18, 2001.
Alex served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum, Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum and a former member of St. Matthias Catholic Church in the town of Auburn.
Those Alex leaves behind to cherish his memory include four children, Matthew (Linda) Kuciauskas of Panama City, Florida, Lisa (David) Getsfried of West Bend, Kathryn Novak of St. Cloud and Rickey Ann (Terry) Weber of Cascade; a daughter-in-law, Michele Kuciauskas of Bruce; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Alex was preceded in death by a son, David; a grandson, Joshua; a brother and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Alex was held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2011, at St. Matthias Catholic Chapel in the town of Auburn. Father Edwin Kornath officiated and burial, with military honors rites performed by members of the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum, followed in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends called at the chapel on Thursday from noon until the time of Mass.
The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Alex’s arrangements.
