Alice J. Herman, nee Wiedmeyer, age 99, of the Town of Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Lomira Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.
She was born on July 4, 1913 in the town of Herman to the late Frank and Rose (nee Hug) Wiedmeyer Sr. On October 4, 1948, Alice was united in marriage to Willmer Herman at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nenno.
She was a former employee of the Amity Company in West Bend. She was a member of St. Anthony's Christian Women and the quilting club in Allenton. Alice enjoyed playing cards, cooking, gardening, and sewing.
She is survived by her husband, Willmer; her two sons, David (Sue) Herman of Kohlsville and Jerry (Susie) Herman of Kewaskum; five grandchildren, Tim (Tracy) Herman, Keith (Bonnie) Herman, Ryan (Missy) Herman, Scott (Jamie) Herman, and Brandon (friend Tabitha) Herman; 10 1/2 great-grandchildren, Teagan, Tierney, Kyra, Brady, Alyce, Maxwell, Samuel, Baby on the way, Trent, Karlee, and Wyatt; three sisters, Rita Weisner of West Bend, Mildred Weiland of Campbellsport, and Rosemary Bonlender of Allenton; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Wiedmeyer of Theresa and Clara Wiedmeyer of Missouri; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Hilda (Gilbert) Brodzeller and Theresa (John) Hembel; four brothers, Ray, Frank Jr., Leonard, and Harold (Florence) Wiedmeyer; three brother-in-laws, Norbert Weiland, Erwin Herman, and Raymond Herman; and two sister-in-laws, Katherine Herman and Hazel Herman.
A funeral service in remembrance of Alice will be held on Monday, April 1st at 5:30 p.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, 6438 Hwy D, Allenton. Rev. Steve Bode will officiate. Burial will follow in Zion Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service.
