Alice M. Nonn, 91, of the town of Osceola, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at her residence with her family at her side.
She was born on March 11, 1920, at Ellison Bay, the daughter of the late Laurence “Ed” and Eva (Dehos) Evanson, and on July 17, 1943, she was united in marriage to Raymond Ramthun. Raymond preceded Alice in death on December 29, 1974. In October 1979 she was united in marriage to John Nonn. John preceded Alice in death in May of 2005.
Alice was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lomira. She was a kind person with an artistic talent. Alice enjoyed painting, and craft projects. She was a pianist and taught her children and grandchildren lessons. Alice was an excellent cook and enjoyed traveling, daily walks and tending to plants and flowers in her yard. She will be deeply missed by her family, neighbors and by all who knew her.
Those Alice leaves behind to cherish her memory include six children; Claire (Donald) Whitney, Connie (Bill Volkert) Ramthun and Carolyn (Michael) Baker all of the town of Osceola, Cary (Nancy) Ramthun of the town of Auburn, Theresia (Jakob) Webel and Frank (Ingrid) Nonn both of the town Osceola; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husbands and parents, Alice was preceded in death by a brother, four sisters, and two grandsons.
Funeral services for Alice were held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2011, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 550 Water Street in Lomira. Rev. Dan Schmidt officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.
Relatives and friends called at the church on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials to St. John’s Lutheran Church or school are appreciated by the family.
