The precious Lord took the hand of Alice M. Walters, nee Luepke, and led her home on Friday, June 27, 2008 at the age of 90 years.
She was born on November 9, 1917 in Aniwa, Wisconsin to the late Gerhard and Lydia (nee Bartelt) Luepke. She married Jack Walters on September 6, 1936 in Crown Point, Indiana. Jack passed away January 12, 1994. Alice was the co-founder of Walters Buildings and was Vice President of the company for 50 years. She was a long time member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in the town of Wayne.
She is survived by two children, Barbara (Tom) Zalewski of Hortonville, and Bill (Sandi) Walters of West Bend; a daughter-in-law, Bridgette Walters of Theresa; four grandchildren, Wendy (Mike) Wade of Theresa, Craig (Ann) Walters of West Bend, Scott (Mary) Walters of West Bend, and Christopher (Heidi) Walters of Comstock; 16 great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Peter, Ryan, Benjamin, Bridgette, Gabrielle, Eric, Matthew, Tygh, Sean, Samantha, Cali, Zachary, Jared, Katie, and Keith; many special nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Walters; a grandson, Duke Walters; and four sisters and their spouses, Bernie (Robert) Lisko, Adela (Jack) Waas, Louise (Roy) Mielke, and Mildred (George) Gebhard.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 29 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, 6438 Cty. Hwy. D, Allenton, with Rev. Steven Bode officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Cremation will follow the service with burial of the cremated remains in Zion Church Cemetery.
