Allen C. Brettingen, 87, of Kewaskum, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2010, at Beechwood Rest Home in Beechwood.
He was born on August 13, 1923, in Menomonie, the son of the late Nordahl and Evelyn (Larson) Brettingen, and on August 23, 1947, he was united in marriage to Geraldine Hendriksen in Wauwatosa. Geraldine preceded Allen in death on August 12, 2008.
Allen proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was employed by General Motors, retiring in 1983, after over 33 years of service.
Those Allen leaves behind to cherish his memory include his son, Jeff (Christine) Brettingen of Kewaskum; two grandchildren, Nicholas Brettingen (fiancée, Jamie Maynard) and Stefanie Brettingen; a sister-in-law, Helen Brettingen of Florida, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Allen was preceded in death by a brother, James.
Funeral services for Allen were held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2010, at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum. Rev. Mark Eckert officiated and military honor rites by members of the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum followed the service. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin.
Relatives and friends called on Monday at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services.
