Alma D. Naab

Alma D. Naab (nee Gilbert), age 103, of West Bend, passed away Saturday December 18, 2004 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center in West Bend.

She was born on June 6, 1901 to the late Ernst and Alma (nee Koch) Gilbert on the family homestead in the Town of West Bend, which includes Gilbert's Lake.

She was baptized and confirmed by Rev. E. Hoyer at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend where she was a life long member. She was also a member of the Ladies Guild at church. On September 24, 1924 Alma was united in marriage to Arthur G. Naab at St. John's Lutheran Church in West Bend. Rev. H. Auger officiated. In 1934 Alma and her husband opened a grocery and meat market on the south side of West Bend. Later on they built a locker plant, grocery, meat department, and apartment units.

Alma is survived by one daughter, Rosalie (Charles) Trevallee; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; a nephew; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; two children, Dorothy and Marjorie Naab; three sisters, Alice, Sophie, and Viola Gilbert; and a grandson, Charles Thomas Trevallee.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at 1:00 pm at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. Rev. George Mumm and Rev. Cal Seban will officiate and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Memorials to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church are appreciated.
