Alvin C. Romaine, 70, of the town of Auburn, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on February 15, 1943, in Fond du Lac County, the son of the late Roland and Alice (Buslaff) Romaine, and on February 19, 1966, he was united in marriage to Janice Heisdorf at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.
Alvin was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. He was employed by Gehl Company in West Bend for over 25 years and was a member of the Hexelbank Club. Alvin enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, camping, attending races and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.
Those Alvin leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 47 years, Janice; three children, Terry Romaine of Kewaskum, Wendy (Brad) Weinert of the town of Wayne and Randy “Butch” Romaine of Kewaskum; five grandchildren, Courtney Weinert (special friend, Jon Gonzalez) and their baby to be born in December, Brady and Abby Weinert, Dylan and Seth Romaine; a sister, Barbara (John) Maurer of Delavan; a sister-in-law, Terumi Romaine of Fond du Lac; a brother-in-law, Jack Vervloet of Menomonee Falls; special friends, Darrel Sabish, Jim Rosenthal and Jim Rindt, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph and a sister, Donna Vervloet.
Funeral services for Alvin were held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2013, at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum with Tony Deiss and Fr. Edwin Kornath presiding. Entombment was at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac.
The Romaine family greeted relatives and friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
The Romaine family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Seasons Hospice, Dr. Mooney, Dr. Olafsson, Dr. Sammis and the Kraemer Cancer Center staff for the care and compassion provided to Alvin.
