Alvin L. “Butch” Giese, 74, of the Town of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2018. He was born on November 2, 1943, in Fond du Lac, the son of the late Alvin and LaVern Giese. Alvin graduated from Mayville High School and shortly after joined the U.S. Army. After he left the Army, he worked at the West Bend Company for many years. Then he worked at Frabill in Allenton, where he patented an ice shanty that is still sold today. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Green Bay Packers fan.
Those Alvin leaves behind to cherish his memory include his children, Dana (Marvin Ray) Burmeister, Daniel (Jane) Giese, Nicole Giese, and Shane Giese; former wife, Susan; grandchildren, Sarah (Mark) Scanlan, Samantha Giese, Dustin Burmeister, and Aaron Giese; great-grandchildren, Theodore and Owen Scanlan; sister, Sharon (Stan) Wolter; and brother, Jeff (Cheryl) Giese. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary; and brothers, Michael and Jamie.
A Memorial Mass in remembrance of Alvin will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 521 Congress Drive Newburg, WI. 53060. Alvin’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Washington County Humane Society.
