Mr. Andrew J. Bonlender, age 90, of St. Kilian, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac.
He was born on August 5, 1919 in the town of Wayne, the son of the late Andrew and Frances (Lehner) Bonlender, and on September 24, 1947, he was united in marriage to Margaret Bonlender at St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian. His wife preceded him in death on February 10, 2002.
He was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian and The West Bend Moose Lodge 1398. Mr. Bonlender farmed all his life in the St. Kilian area. Andrew loved to play cards, travel and read.
Those Andrew leaves behind to cherish his memories include James (Jean) Bonlender of Hickory, North Carolina, and Linda (Peter) Winter of Campbellsport, a daughter-in-law, Helen Bonlender of St. Kilian
A brother, Ralph Bonlender of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Leona Bonlender of Youngtown, Arizona. Six grandchildren, Timothy Taylor, Melinda (Jeff) Woods, Dominic Bonlender, Andrew (Akua) Bonlender, William (Kari Noll) Bonlender and Jennifer (Greg) Reilley; eight great grandchildren, Dakota and Braden Taylor, John and Hannah Bonlender and Patrick Reilley, Owen and Zachary Woods and Ian Bonlender; many step grandchildren and many step great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Taylor and a son John; four brothers and six sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Andrew was held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday August 31, 2009, at St. Kilian Catholic Church, N189 Cty. Rd. W, in St. Kilian. Father Neal Zinthefer officiated and entombment was on Tuesday, September 1 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
Relatives and friends called on Monday at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
