Angela Burchard DeWitt, (nee Stamm), age 95, of West Bend, was called home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at home in the loving presence of her family.
She was born on October 14, 1910 in Madison to the late Peter and Mary (nee Schachte) Stamm. Angela was raised on her family's farm in Adams County, Wisconsin. She earned a B.S. degree in education from the University of Stevens Point. After her graduation she moved back to Adams County and became a teacher. During her 37 years of teaching, her career lead her to other teaching opportunities in Wood County and Washington County. She taught at Kewaskum Elementary School for 17 years. Angela loved her Lord and was a member of Emmaus Bible Church in downtown West Bend.
Angela is survived by her two loving children, Georgene and Gaylord DeWitt, both of West Bend; her two wonderful grandchildren, Carey and Jodi Dewitt, both of West Bend; a brother, Florian (Mary) Stamm of Mt. Horeb; a sister-in-law, Margaret Stamm of Madison; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
A funeral service in honor of Angela will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service of West Bend. Rev. James Taylor will officiate and burial will follow at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
