Angeline C. Kircher, 93, of West Bend, passed away Friday, October 3, 2008 at the Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center, West Bend.
She was born on July 4, 1915 in the town of Farmington to the late Anton and Mary (nee Prevost) Kircher. She was educated in a one-room school in the town of Farmington and graduated from West Bend High School in 1933. Angie was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years, and was the only female at the time to obtain the highest position as a U.S. Postal Inspector in Milwaukee.
Upon her retirement, she moved to Florida and worked at various hotels in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Angie recently moved back to West Bend, settling at Cedar Community in Cedar Bay West.
Angie had a love of fine dining and cuisine. She treasured the friendships she had with her many friends in Florida and the Milwaukee area.
She is survived by a niece, Peggy (Laszio) Jofeju of West Allis, great-nieces and great-nephews in the Milwaukee area and in Illinois, as well as close cousins, Fr. Robert Bales, Clara Moll and Janet Petri, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose (Whitey) Hein and Orlinda (Al) Retzer, two brothers, Ray (Esther) Kircher and Adam (Dorothy) Kircher, and a niece Mary (Marvin) Martin.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the Family Center at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, with Fr. Robert Bales officiating. Visitation will be in the Family Center at Wisconsin Memorial Park on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
A special thank you is extended to the staff of Cedar Bay West, Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center, and the Hartford Hospital for the care given to Angie.
