Anita A. Zander, nee Krueger, 93, of West Bend, passed away Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.
She was born on November 12, 1915 in the town of Polk to the late Charles and Elizabeth (nee Wendt) Krueger. She was baptized on December 19, 1915 and confirmed by Rev. F. Otto on March 24, 1929 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in the town of Jackson.
Anita married Carl H. Zander on November 24, 1946 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. Carl passed away on March 8, 1974.
Anita was employed at Amity Leather Co. for 32 years and was a member of the 25 Year Club. She especially enjoyed talking with relatives and her many friends. She will be fondly remembered for her loving and generous nature.
She is survived by nine nieces and nephews: Gloria Resnik, Hillary Zander, Walter Krueger, Robert Krueger, Adrian Krueger, Phyllis Wattleworth, Janice Ebert, David Krueger, and Delores Bierman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Benjamin Krueger and Waldemar Krueger, a brother-in-law, August Zander, three sisters-in-law, Casilda Zander, Erma Schmidt, and Doris Krueger, and a nephew, Donald Krueger.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Rev. George Mumm will officiate and burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Rev. Mumm for bringing Communion and praying with Anita. The kindness, caring and pleasant demeanor of the Samaritan Health Center staff and Cedar Lake Hospice personnel is also greatly appreciated by the family.
