Ann M. Beverly of Adell, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 9, 2025. Ann was born in Fond du Lac on May 27,1936 to Esther and Clarence Murray. She attended and graduated from St. Mary’s Springs Academy, then UW Oshkosh graduating in 1958 with a degree in Education.
Ann began teaching in 1958 with most of her 35-year career spent with the Menomonee Falls School District. She started her “Falls” career at North Hills Elementary 1960, then Valley View Elementary School from 1967 until her retirement in 1993. She likely taught over 1,000 First Graders to read and write and had a natural talent for fostering curiosity, encouraging growth and making learning an exciting journey for her students.
Ann continued teaching even after retirement, volunteering to teach reading to the incarcerated at the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institute near Plymouth, English as a second language to Hmong and Vietnamese immigrants and whitewater canoe lessons for the Wisconsin River Alliance & Sierra Club.
Ann took weaving lessons and created gorgeous clothing and art which she gifted to grateful family and her many friends. Ann was a proud participant of the West Bend Chapter of the Red Hat Ladies Society and loved golf. To date, Ann is the only woman to have made a Hole-In-One at West Bend Lakes Golf Course for which a plaque still hangs in the Course Clubhouse.
Ann always loved the outdoors, and this love expanded boundlessly after meeting William (Bill) Beverly in 1975 and marrying in 1982. Bill and Ann traveled extensively throughout the United States, usually not far from a mountain or a river. They also traveled to New Zealand and throughout Europe with the Road Scholars. Ann always returned from their trips with a wealth of stories, memories and a greater appreciation for the diversity of our world. During their time together and with a “Brady Bunch” merge of 7 children, Bill and Ann camped, backpacked, white-water canoed, downhill and cross country skied a path together lasting over 42 years.
Bill and Ann both retired in 1993 and moved to their dream home which they built on 100 acres of Kettle Moraine rolling pasture and forest in Adell, WI. They cherished walks on their “Gooseville Creek Farms” property, delighting in the nature around them and the changing of the seasons.
Ann was a force of nature herself; kind, loving and always ready to share a laugh or a piece of wisdom. Her energy was infectious, and she touched the lives of everyone she met. Above all, Ann was a passionate, caring mother whose unconditional love for her children and extended family knew no bounds. She dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting them, always putting their needs ahead of her own. She leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure and compassion and her spirit lives in the hearts of those who knew her.
Those left to cherish Ann’s memory include her Husband, William “Bill” Beverly of Adell; four children, Chris (Gloria) Larson of Roland, AR, Karin Larson of Sheboygan, Jane (Kevin) Schmitt of West Bend, and Erika (Frank) Hernet of Fort Worth, TX; Three stepchildren, Susan (Kenneth) Blanchette of Hackensack, NJ, Stephanie Huntington of White Salmon, WA, David (Kathleen) Beverly of West Allis; five grandchildren, Benjamin (Peyton) Larson of Franklin, TN, Jared Schmitt of West Bend, Emily (Tim) Boelter of Colgate, Xavier Hernet of Fort Worth, TX, and Anna Hernet of Fort Worth, TX; four step grandchildren, Antonia Blanchette of Hackensack, NJ, Foster Huntington of Washougal, WA, Tim (Ari) Huntington of
