Anne O. Bruendl

Anne Olivia Bruendl, 98, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Kewaskum, was born into eternal life on Friday, October 18, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Las Vegas.

She was born on July 7, 1915, in Mellen, the daughter of the late Anton and Katherine (Berres) Schaeffer. Anne attended St. Michael School and graduated in 1929. She was the last surviving member of her class. The class motto was "Doing, not Wishing", which Anne attested to all her life. After graduation she had numerous domestic jobs and worked at the Hartford shoe factory and Amity.

Anne was united in marriage to George M. Becker on June 16, 1937, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Michaels. George was the co-owner of the Fisher and Becker garage in Newburg. He passed away in 1965. On August 31, 1977, she was united in marriage to George Bruendl at Holy Hill. He passed away in 2000.

Anne enjoyed arts, crafts and organ music, which she continued to do into her 90's. She was a long-time member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum and contributed many hours of charity work with her crafts for Sister Eileen Curran. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2002 and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and also an active member of a bible group. Anne continued her love of music through becoming a member of Fletchers Music Studio in Las Vegas and was also involved with the Las Vegas Senior Center.

Those Anne leaves behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Carol (Nordehl "Del") Jones-Swan of Las Vegas; a sister, Rose Gross of Port Washington; a brother, John (Florence) Schaeffer of Waukesha; a brother-in-law, Frank Herriges of West Bend, numerous nieces, nephews, friends and beloved Pastor Manuel Quintero of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Las Vegas and members of her spiritual family.

In addition to her husbands and parents, Anne was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward and Lawrence Schaeffer; two sisters, Marie (Clarence) Albinger and Eleanor Neckuty Herriges and two brothers-in-law, Edwin Gross and Peter Neckuty.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Anne was held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Father Edwin Kornath officiated and burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday in Holy Angels Catholic Church Cemetery in West Bend.

Relatives and friends called at the church on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Trinity Catholic Church were appreciated.

The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Anne's arrangements.
