Ann Kuring, (nee Cupery), age 83, of West Bend, passed away Saturday August 13, 2011 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on October 19, 1927 in Friesland to the late John and Mae (nee Wiersma) Cupery. Ann was united in marriage to August "Gus" Kuring on June 26, 1954.
She enjoyed working for Carbon Engineering in Slinger for 27 years, retiring in 2000. She also had worked as a waitress at the former Beacon Restaurant in downtown West Bend and at Little Switzerland Ski Hill in Slinger.
Ann lived on big Cedar Lake with her family for many years and enjoyed eating at the White Tail Inn. She also enjoyed bird watching, boating, gardening, traveling, and eating out with her girlfriends.
Ann will be dearly missed by her daughter, Debbie Kuring of West Bend; a sister, Muriel Cupery of Fort Lauderdale, FL; nieces and nephews, Mavis (Jeff) Luther of Mequon, Linda (Joe) Lueloff of Fond du Lac, Patricia (Dennis) Sweeney of West Allis, Kathleen (Tom) Carlson of Waterford, Janet Cupery of Okemos, MI, Diane (Russ) Hiatt of Sparks, NV, Mary Dobbs of Princeton, and Sydney (Pam) Halbersma of Portland, OR, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gus; two sisters, Edna Halbersma and Effie Harris; and three brothers, Sam Cupery, Charles Cupery, and Robert Cupery.
A memorial service in remembrance of Ann will be held on Sunday, August 21st at 3:00 pm at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington Street, West Bend with Rev. Bill Dushek officiating. Visitation will be Sunday at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
