Anton T. “Tony” Zeckmeister, 84, of town of Trenton, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2015, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk, surrounded by his loving family.
Tony was born on June 19, 1931, the son of the late Anton and Catherine (Behrens) Zeckmeister. On October 8, 1955, he was united in marriage to Ruth Mayer at Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend.
Tony was a member of Newburg Sportsman’s Club and the Hexelbank Club. Tony proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Helena during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. He loved fishing, hunting, and gardening. Ruth and Tony often enjoyed going to their cabin up north. Above all else Tony loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Those Tony leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Ruth; three children, Bonnie (Dwight) Bayley of California, Rick (Cynthia) Zeckmeister of Brookfield and Sandy (Scott) Simpson of New Berlin; seven grandchildren, Alison, Tyler, Cadence, Hope, Griffin, Erin and Will; two sisters, Jane Fahney and Alice (Robert) Fechter both of Saukville; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Zeckmeister of Saukville and Jean Zeckmeister of West Bend, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by a sister, Betty (Al) Mundt; two brothers, Ralph Zeckmeister and Bobby Zeckmeister and a brother-in-law, Roman Fahney.
At the family’s request, private funeral services for Tony will be held at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff at Kathy Hospice for the care provided to Tony.
