Ardys E. Wellso, 91, of Lomira, passed away on November 19, 2023, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation in Lomira.
Ardys was born on October 19, 1932, in Greenville, the daughter of the late Edwin and Ella (nee Bruins) Lemke. Ardys attended Hortonville High School – class of 1950 where she was the class valedictorian. She then attended UW – Oshkosh Teachers College earning a Teaching Degree. Ardys taught at a rural Eldrado school and Elder Grove School in rural Brownsville for 7 years. On June 30, 1956, she was united in marriage to Raymond Wellso in Freemont. Raymond preceded Ardys in death on April 13, 2009. Ardys was a Lomira Cloverleaves 4H and Dodge County Fair volunteer and art judge for 45 years. She received an award at UW – Madison for volunteerism in 1991. Ardys would like to be remembered as and artist where she freely shared her talents.
Those Ardys leaves behind to cherish her memory include her three children, Anne (David) Rinzel of Lomira, Glen (Pam) Wellso of Brownsville, and Nyle (Deb) Wellso of Campbellsport; her grandchildren, Neela (Joe) Erwin, Dr. Tia Rinzel (Dr. Tim Semon), Miranda Galligan, Faith Rinzel, Savannah Galligan (Kaylan Reible), Nyall Wellso, and Allyson Wellso; a great-grandson, Henry Erwin; a brother, Dr. Mark (Dr. Cindy) Lemke; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ardys was preceded in death by her siblings, Armond (Mary) Lemke, Louis Lemke, Shelby Lemke, and Verlyn (Diane) Lemke; a sister-in-law, Harriet (Earl) Wolfinger.
VISITATION: Ardys’ family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 550 Water Street, in Lomira.
SERVICE: A service for Ardys’ will be held on Saturday at Noon at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lomira. Rev. Matthew Kiecker will officiate and burial will follow at Emanuel Cemetery in the town of Lomira on the corner of highway H and Y.
