Arleen M. Stern, 84, of West Bend, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013, at Cedar Lake Health Care Center in the town of West Bend.
She was born on May 3, 1929, in Random Lake, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ida (Ramel) Utech, and on June 20, 1953, she was united in marriage to Richard Stern at St. John's Lutheran Church in West Bend. Following their marriage Richard and Arleen farmed. Arleen loved the farm life, the outdoors and raising their family. Richard preceded Arleen in death on November 7, 1996.
Arleen was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum.
Those Arleen leaves behind to cherish her memory include three sons, David (Darlene) Stern and Don (Sandy) Stern both of the town of Kewaskum and Dale Stern of West Bend; a brother, August (Lillian) Utech of West Bend; a sister, Deloris Abel of West Bend; 11 grandchildren, James (Christa), Joshua (Lacey), Jonathan Stern, Amanda (Jairo) Huilar, Jacob, Ana, Alyssa, Angela, Amelia, Gabriel and Lydia Stern; three great-grandchildren, Faith, Drake, Daigan, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Arleen was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Herbert Abel Jr.; a sister-in-law, Myrtle Aupperle and three nephews, Scott, Randall and Ronald Utech.
Funeral services for Arleen were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. Rev. Troy Swenson officiated and burial followed in Buffalo Cemetery in the town of Kewaskum.
The Stern family greeted relatives and friends at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum on Saturday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials to the St. Lucas Building Fund or Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School PAC were appreciated.
