Arlene C. Hinze

January 2, 1931 — February 26, 2015

Arlene C. Hinze, nee Figge, 84, of West Bend, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Kathy Hospice.

She was born on January 2, 1931 in Bradley, WI to the late Theodore and Cora (nee Rapel) Figge. Arlene spent her early childhood in Tomahawk, WI and then moved to Milwaukee where she attended school and graduated from Rufus King High School. She married Norman Hinze on October 7, 1950 at Gospel Lutheran Church in Milwaukee and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage together. They resided in the Milwaukee area until moving to West Bend after retirement.

Arlene was very musically talented, playing the violin, piano and accordion and also singing. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Brown Deer and was also a Girl Scout leader. She also loved knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by her husband, Norman; three children, Nancy (Greg) Harding, Norene (Tom) Johnson, and Neal Hinze; five grandchildren, Eric (Sara) Hinze, Alex (special friend Hannah) Hinze, Kaytlyn (Matt) Muehlbauer, Emmalyn (special friend Brian) Harding, and Hannah (special friend Joe) Hinze; two great-granddaughters, Abby Hinze and Lexi Hinze; two brothers-in-law, Fred (Jacki) Hinze and Gerald (Marilyn) Hinze; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Norman Hinze, Jr.; and two brothers, Earl Figge and Robert Figge.

A funeral service in remembrance of Arlene will be held on Tuesday, March 3 at 12:00 Noon at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Rev. Dave Paape of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Brown Deer, will officiate and entombment will follow at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Horizon Health Care nurses, aides and staff, including Patti, Linda, Shirley and Sandy, and the staff of Kathy Hospice for the care given to Arlene.
