Arlie J. Dailey, age 76, of West Bend, was born into eternal life on Monday December 10, 2007, at his residence.

He was born on January 23, 1931 in Rhinelander to the late Arlie J. and Dora (nee Richardson) Dailey Sr. Arlie left high school early to enlist as a Marine during Korea. After his discharge, Arlie worked as a lineman for Wisconsin Electric in northern Wisconsin. He later worked as a lineman for other companies in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Arlie was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Koszarek on August 4, 1952 in Rhinelander. She preceded him in death in 1989. After moving to West Bend in 1997 he met Marge Salberg and they were united in marriage on July 3, 1998 at Fifth Ave. United Methodist Church, West Bend.

Arlie embraced his Irish-Ojibwa heritage, and was a distinguished member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians. He had a passionate love for nature, especially the lakes and forests of northern Wisconsin. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who strongly believed in preserving our natural resources for future generations.

He was a member of the Fifth Ave. United Methodist Church, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Arlie and Marge greatly enjoyed activities at the West Bend Senior Center, where Marge is the director.

He is survived by his wife, Marge; three children, Debra (George) Dailey-Eliszewski of Belgium, Michael (Robin) Dailey Sr. of Antigo, and Kathleen (Christopher) Pownell of Eagle River; three step children, Emory (Amy) Salberg Sr. of West Bend, LuAnn (Charles) Pallister of Red Granite, and Cindy (Kenneth) Brown of Hollywood, FL; 12 grandchildren, Alia Dailey-Willis, Nicole Dailey, Michael Dailey Jr., April Pownell, Michael (Karen) Eliszewski, Joe Eliszewski, Emory Salberg Jr., Alton Salberg, Amber Anderson, Jason Anderson, Kenlyn Brown, and Brandi (Luke) Brown; a great-granddaughter, Kylie Jade Powell; three sisters, Carol (Jack) Fischer, Ruth Dailey, and Martha (Gary) Johnson; three brothers, Charles Dailey, Frank Kronzer, and Pat Kronzer; two sisters-in-law, Delores (Larry) Schiebe, and Rachel (Bill) Schlutz; three brothers-in-law, Harold (DeLoras) Greer, Howard (Jane) Greer, and Ralph (Rita) Greer. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Arlie John III; and two brothers, Duane and Tom.

A memorial service to remember Arlie will be held on Saturday December 15th at 1:00 pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Rev. Janis Best will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorials may be given to the Senior Center or the Threshold in Arlie's name. Burial of his cremated remains will be in Holy Family Cemetery in Elcho.
