Arthur D. Hestekin, age 62, of the town of West Bend, passed away Saturday January 29, 2005 at St. Joseph's Community Hospital in West Bend.
He was born on August 26, 1942 in Eau Claire to the late Ralph and Loren (nee Watson) Hestekin. After graduating from Eau Claire high school Arthur joined the United States Army where he served almost one year in Vietnam. Following his service in the Army he became a Unit Manager for Commercial Collections in Milwaukee. On July 5, 1996 he was united in marriage to Marie Donnelly in West Bend. In his spare time Arthur enjoyed a variety of hobbies; one of his favorites was model railroading. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and camping. Arthur was a member of the Miller-Justman-Guelig American Legion Post 270.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; a son, Jason (Tammy) Hestekin of Oshkosh; three step-children, Debbie (Andy) Leitheiser of Milwaukee, Dianna Donnelly of West Bend, and Rodney (Amy) Donnelly of Kewaskum; nine grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph (Kay) Hestekin of Chetek; a sister-in-law, Clara Ann (Rex) King of Byesville, Ohio; other relatives and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a step-son Jeff Donnelly.
A Memorial services for Arthur will be held on Wednesday February 2 at 7:00 pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Rev. David Schoob of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Memorials to the family would be greatly appreciated.
