Arthur D. “Art” Kelling, 67, of the town of Scott, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 19, 2008, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.
He was born on December 6, 1940, in Sheboygan, the son of the late Arthur and Marie (Lillge) Kelling. Art was united marriage to Theresa Backhaus in 1963, and she preceded him in death on December 9, 1972. On May 25, 1974, he was united in marriage to Beverly Konen at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Batavia.
Art was employed by the West Bend Company in West Bend, retiring in 2003 after 36 years of service. He was a member of the 25 Year Club and a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Batavia.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; two children, David (Denise) Kelling of Plymouth and Valerie Kelling of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Zachary and Hailey Kelling; two sisters, Elaine Larson of Wauwatosa and Marilyn Kelling of Milwaukee; a sister-in-law, Jan Kelling of Menomonee Falls, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his first wife and parents, Art was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Earl (Joyce) Kelling and a brother-in-law, Lee Larson.
A Memorial Service for Art was held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2008, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, N1510 Highway 28 in Batavia. Cremation took place.
The family received visitors at the church on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services.
