Audrey T. Phillips, nee Theis, 87, of West Bend, was Born to Eternal Life on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at The Cottages at Cedar Run in West Bend.
She was born on March 11, 1928 in Milwaukee to the late Herbert and Irene (nee Zarling) Theis.
She was united in marriage to Robert Phillips on November 8, 1947 in Milwaukee. The couple moved to West Bend in 1975 and purchased the White Cedar Inn Restaurant on Big Cedar Lake in the town of West Bend. They owned and operated the restaurant until 1987. Robert passed away on August 27, 1991.
Audrey was an active member and “professional volunteer” at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. She received great enjoyment working at the church for her Lord. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and served as President of the Ladies Aid for many years. She also sang in the choir, expanded and organized the church library, assisted the office staff in printing and folding bulletins, and anything else that was asked of her.
Those Audrey leaves to cherish her memory include two children, Robert (Cheryl) Phillips of Manassas, VA, and Janis (Richard) Krause of Richfield; five grandchildren, Thomas Phillips of Milwaukee, Amy (Randy) McCartney of West Bend, James Crawford of Trenton, NJ, Richard Krause, Jr. of Tampa, FL, and David Krause of West Palm Beach, FL; a great-granddaughter, Ashley Crawford; two nieces, Virginia (Frank) White of Hampstead, MD, and Elizabeth (Douglas) Johnson of Manchester, MD; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Audrey was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Dorothy (Sterling) Hoover.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31 at 11:30 a.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend, with Rev. David Kellerman of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 31 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend.
