Audrey Z. Zell, (nee Foster), age 85, of West Bend, passed away Saturday May 17, 2014 at her home.
Audrey was born on August 25, 1928 in Shawano to the late Earl "Pop" and Zoe (nee Hancock) Foster. She was raised in Port Washington and graduated from Port Washington High School in the class of 1945. On August 2, 1947 Audrey was united in marriage to Elmer Zell in Menomonee, MI. Together they made their home and raised their family in West Bend.
Audrey was employed by Culligan of West Bend for 31 years. She was a 50 year member of Immanuel U.C.C. in West Bend, and active on many church committees. In 2003 she became a member of Peace U.C.C. in Kewaskum. She was a former Sunday school teacher and church school secretary, spent 41 years as a Girl Scout leader and traveled to Hawaii and Europe with the scouts, and volunteered at Lac Lawrann Conservancy. She was a member of the American Legion Aux. for many years, the Half Century Club, and the YMCA.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer; three children, Priscilla (Tom) Schroeder of Louisville, KY, Debra (Ken) Bero Jr. of West Bend, and Steve (Julie) Zell of San Diego, CA; ten grandchildren, John Schroeder, Maggie (Scott) Soeder, Susan Schroeder, Kristine (Jim) Neuburg, Jennifer Bero, Stephanie (Darrick) Sekeres, Ken Bero III, Erica Zell, Jordan Zell, and Shayne Zell; seven great-grandchildren, Savanah, Tannon & Olivia Soeder, James & Anna Neuburg, Brycen & Madison Sekeres; a sister, Joan Reindl of Mason City, IA; two sisters-in-law, Germaine Foster of Whitewater, and Sally Zell of Oshkosh; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Vastola and her husband Frank; three brothers, Rex Foster, Roger Foster and his wife Natalie, Robert Foster and his wife Mae; three brothers-in-law, August Zell and his wife Gertrude, Stanley Zell, and Eugene Zell.
Funeral services in remembrance of Audrey will be held on Wednesday May 21st at 5:30 pm at Peace United Church of Christ (343 First Street) Kewaskum. Rev. Eric Kirkegaard will officiate. Visitation will be at the church Wednesday from 3:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park on Thursday at 11:00 am.
