Barbara Bremmer

April 17, 1945 — June 24, 2010

Barbara Jean Bremmer, nee Schneider, age 65, of West Bend, passed away at her home on Thursday, June 24, 2010 after a long battle with cancer.

Barbara was born on April 17, 1945 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of the late John and Marie Schneider. She graduated from the former Grandville High School (currently Brown Deer High School) in the class of 1963. On July 17, 1965, she was united in marriage to Richard J. Bremmer at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Brown Deer.

Barbara was employed at the West Bend Daily News as a type setter, and later worked at Serigraph as a graphic technician until her retirement in 2001. During her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, friends, taking road trips with her husband, and spending time at her eldest son's farm. Through the years, Barbara took great pleasure in the companionship of her various pets: Baby, Cu-Tip, Charlie, Zeucky, Tracy, Pudgie, Sugar, Marie and Chowder.

Barbara possessed a gift for being meticulous and detailed at home and at work. Her smile and laughter will be deeply missed. Above all was Barbara's obvious love for her family and friends which sustained her throughout her life.

She is survived by her wonderful husband, Richard; her three children, Richard (Laurie) Bremmer Jr. of Random Lake, Matthew Bremmer of West Bend and Angela (Greg) Towers of West Bend; six grandchildren, Cody Asboth, Jacob Bremmer, Nicholas and Travis Warriner-Towers, Alexander and Aiden Towers; She is further survived by her sister, Deanna (Wayne) Schnell of Shawno; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Schneider of La Grange, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Schneider; parents-in-law, James and Irma Bremmer; her brother John Schneider; and brother-in-law, David Bremmer.

A memorial service in remembrance of Barbara will be held on Saturday July 10th at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church, 2300 S. Main Street, West Bend with Rev. Bruce Dunford presiding. Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
