Proverbs 31:10-12,30
“…the valiant woman loves her husband and merits his trust: she is a good housewife, is prudent and industrious, manages cleverly…she possesses wisdom, is charitable in her actions and in her words, and loves God: there is also bestowed upon her the praise of her children and of her husband.”

Barbara was the beloved wife of Terry Hill of Aurora, CO, and mother of their two sons Edward James, who went home to God two years ago, and Eric, who died shortly after birth.

Barbara was the daughter of the late Jim and Agnes (Uelmen) Johann, formerly of St. Michaels, and is survived by the following family members: Ronald (Karen) Johann of Kewaskum, Richard (Jan) Johann of Campbellsport, Claude (Kerri) Johann of Eagle River, Diane (Gerry) Schmidt of West Bend, Jane Johann of Palmyra, William (Harriet) Johann of Meridian, KS, Mary (Dave) Neckuty of Green Bay and Jenny (Jeff) Funk of Slinger; her faithful friends, Ruth Reis of West Bend and Joe Howard of Texas; 23 nieces and nephews, Debbie (Chuck) Strassburg, Thomas (Heidi) Johann and Pamela (Mark) Johnson, children of Richie and the late Jean Johann; Sherri (Jeff) Bannenberg, Leann (Gus) Karsoes and Candi (Sean) Riley, daughters of Claude and stepdaughters of Kerri Johann and daughters of Rita Johann; Michael (Donna) Johann, Lynn Johann and Steven (Katie) Johann, children of Ron and Karen Johann; Dave Schmidt, Andrea (David) Berndt and Nicholas (Jessie) Schmidt, children of Gerry and Diane Schmidt; Tanya (Jon) Gunderson, Alanna Miller, Nicole Neckuty (Nicholas Bradshaw), Katrina (Jerry) Neckuty-Fodness, Val (Kevin) Odle, Dave (Kari) Neckuty and Christopher Neckuty, children of Dave and Mary Neckuty; Sara Johann-Reichart, Annie (Jeremy) Krenn and Lara Johann-Reichart, daughters of Jane Johann and Bill Reichart and Andrew Funk, son of Jenny and Jeff Funk, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her sons and parents, Barbara was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and Robert Johann; a sister-in-law, Jean Johann and her best friend, Linda Steward (Goetz) of Mayville.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-11…
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up the other…”

Barbara and Terry were married May 21, 1988, and lived their lives for each other and for their son, Jimmy…a family of love and care. Barbara loved to prepare meals and cook great dinners and share their meals with friends. She and Terry often gave shelter to people who needed a place to stay. They always had an open door and open hearts to everyone. Barbara suffered from myotonic dystrophy yet always forged forward, did not complain, and embodied a spirit of adventure and courage towards life. She had a kind and sensitive heart, with a generosity hard to match. She was loyal to her friends and family and will be deeply missed by her husband, Terry, her sister, Jane, her friends and by all who were touched by her life.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara was at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 8881 Forestview Road in St. Michaels. Father Edwin Kornath officiated and interment followed in the parish cemetery.

Visitation was at the church on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. All were welcomed to St. Michael’s Hall following the services.

John 14:27
"Let your heart not be troubled, neither let it be afraid…I go before you always…I will give you rest….”
