Barbara J. Schroeder (nee Justman) took the hand of God that led her to her eternal home on March 3, 2017 at the age of 70 while in the arms of her loving husband, George Schroeder. She was born August 17, 1946 to Roland and Beulah Justman, in the Town of Herman. She attended Herman Center School and graduated from Hartford Union High School, Class of 1964. Barbara was united in marriage to George Schroeder on November 6, 1966 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Herman. This past November Barbara and George celebrated 50 years of marriage and shared this special day with their family and friends.
Barbara’s favorite past time was sewing. Many of the banners at St. Peter’s Church in Kekoskee are Barbara Schroeder originals, along with all her grandchildren’s blankets, many Christmas tree skirts and various other projects were her precious creations. She also loved her flower gardens and vegetable canning. Most of all her heart was in helping her children and following her grandchildren in the many activities they were involved in, whether it be a day at a soccer park or musical activities. Her most cherished days involved her whole family spending a summer day in the swimming pool and then sitting under the pergola in the backyard.
Barbara is survived by her loyal and loving husband, George; her children, Corene (Matt) Giebel of Fond du Lac, Jenni (Dave) Hansen of Franklin, Mark (Kristine) Schroeder of Iron Ridge; six grandsons, Mason (fiancé Mikayla) and Quinn Giebel, Kaleb, Dylan and Seth Schroeder, and Riley Hansen. She is further survived by her father, Roland Justman of Mayville; two sisters, Annette (Frank) Lovejoy of Brandon and Christine (Chuck) Budnick of Florence; two brothers, Lew (special friend Kelly) Justman of Iron Ridge and Dennis (Carol) Justman of Iron Ridge; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.
Barbara is preceded in death by her mother, Beulah Justman; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Henry and Beatrice Schroeder; and step-mother, Beatrice Justman.
