Barbara Louise Stehlik (nee Kumrow), 80, passed away on Monday, October 23 2023 after a very courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mom was a Barton girl born on May 26, 1943, to the late Arnold J. and Fern M (nee Crass) Kumrow and graduated from West Bend High School in 1961. Mom met Charles “Tuna” Stehlik after a friend arranged a blind date, they were married on July 7, 1962, and enjoyed 60 years together before Dad passed away on February 20, 2022. Mom worked for the West Bend Company for a short time but realized what she wanted was to stay home and take care of her family. She enjoyed ceramics, planting flowers, dancing, and Elvis. Mom belonged to the Energizer Homemakers Club for many years and made a wonderful group of lifelong friends. Mom loved her dog Teddy, her faithful companion, who never left her side.
Those left to hold her memory in their hearts are her children, Michelle Stehlik-Hurst, Lori Stehlik, Barry Stehlik, and Nicole (Keith) Cottrell; five grandchildren, Marisa Hurst, Adam Hurst, Mady Hurst, Payton (Colton) Zimmer and Lily Cottrell; two sisters, Janice Harter, and Joanne Rank; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Ginocchio and Mary Kumrow; along with nieces, nephews, and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two brothers, Daniel Kumrow, and David Kumrow; her sister, Judi Tomko; sister-in-law, Valerie Stehlik; and three brothers-in-law, Joseph Harter, Edward Stehlik, and Robert Ginocchio.
Per the family's wishes, services will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank Becky, Casey, Molly, Angie, Deb, Chaplin Bob, Ellen, Amy, and Dr. Sammis from Cedar Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate and loving care of our mom.
