Ben Grahm Derge

Ben Grahm Derge, 13, of Kewaskum, was gathered into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, November 22, 2006.


He was born on July 9, 1993, in Milwaukee, the son of Scott and Patti (Filber) Derge. Ben was a seventh grade student at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran School in Kewaskum and proudly served as a school crossing guard and participated in forensics.


Ben was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum, where he loved to usher and was a member of the Junior Choir. He enjoyed working with children and was a volunteer with vacation Bible School. Ben enjoyed many sports, including basketball, football, baseball, track and bowling. He was a member of the Kewaskum Gridiron Football team and was a Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan.

Ben loved to laugh and will fondly be remembered for his sense of humor. He was a thoughtful, loving son, grandson and nephew, and will be deeply missed by his parents, his family and by all who knew him.


Ben leaves behind his loving parents, Scott and Patti of Kewaskum; his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Marilyn Filber of the town of Wayne; his paternal grandparents, Willard and Dolores Derge of West Bend; his uncles, Mark Derge of San Diego, California, Randy (Ann) Derge of Green Bay, Paul (Janice) Filber of West Bend, Peter (Kyle) Filber of Wauwatosa and Philip (Stacy) Filber of the town of Wayne; his aunt, Pamela (Tim) Hartfiel of Paynesville, Minnesota; his godmother, Angela (Al) Martin of Kewaskum; many cousins, Nathan (Heather) Derge and their children, Blake and Rogan; Doug (Kayla) LaRock, Ellen, Carl, Joe and Amanda Derge, Shannon (Jamie) Schutz and their son, Trevor; Eric (Mariah) Hartfiel and their children, Gabby, Buddy and Grace; Adam and Justin Hartfiel, Emily, Madisyn, Harrison, Olivia and Eli Filber, other relatives and many friends.


Funeral services for Ben were held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1417 Parkview Drive, Kewaskum. Rev. Edwin Fredrich officiated and burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Cedar Lake.


Relatives and friends called on Tuesday at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
