Bernetta A. Roecker

Bernetta A. Roecker, 90, of West Bend, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2008, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.


She was born on March 10, 1918, in the town of Addison, the daughter of the late Alfred and Amanda (Rheingans) Seyfert, and on September 27, 1939, she was united in marriage to Ludwig Roecker at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Kohlsville. Her husband preceded her in death on July 19, 1991. Bernetta was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum and the Young at Heart.

Survivors include three children, Jean (Michael) Cornell of Hartford, Richard Roecker (Jeffrey Phelps) of Cathedral City, California and Harry (Lori) Roecker of Kewaskum; a daughter-in-law, Darlene Roecker of Lomira; five grandchildren, Joel Roecker, Jenna (Brian) Wiederhold, William (Lori) Becker, Daniel (Charity) Becker and Debra (Tim) Tischendorf; eight great-granddaughters, Pam Becker (John Hutto), Pat (Josh) Junghans, Amanda Becker (fiancé, Jon Herbst), Brooke and Jessica Becker, Katie Tischendorf (Eric Spaeth), Ashlyn Roecker and Haileigh Wiederhold; a great-great-grandson, John Michael Hutto; two brothers-in-law, Raymond (Lucille) Roecker of Fond du Lac and Harold (Carol) Roecker of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Lucille “Toots” Roecker of Prineville, Oregon, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


In addition to her husband and parents, Bernetta was preceded in death by a son, Thomas “Reggie” Roecker; a son-in-law, Robert Becker; three brothers, Melwin (Edna), Howard (Erna) and Elwood Seyfert and a brother-in-law, Roland Roecker.


Funeral services for Bernetta were held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2008, at Peace United Church of Christ, 343 First Street in Kewaskum. Rev. Eric Kirkegaard officiated and burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the church cemetery.


Relatives and friends called at the church on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
