Bernice A. Kastner, (nee Reul), age 79, of West Bend, passed away Monday September 10, 2007 at Kathy Hospice.
She was born on March 8, 1929 on the family homestead farm in Boltonville to the late Edward and Amanda (nee Klahn) Reul.
Bernice worked for many years at Briggs and Stratton in Milwaukee. She enjoyed reading and especially fishing on the Wolf River. Her other favorite pastime was her many excursions to the casinos.
Bernice is survived by two children, Sandra (Thomas) Werner and Thomas Kastner, both of West Bend; four grandchildren, Anthony Werner, Andrew Werner, Jake Kastner, and Luke Kastner; four sisters, Laverne Remich of Juneau, Mildred Donath of Kewaskum, Doris (Adrian) Krahn of Beechwood, and Jean (Al) Ripley of Adell; a brother, Edward (Eileen) Reul of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Betty Reul of Random Lake; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Inez (Vernon) Staege; three brothers, Marvin, Howard, and an infant boy; along with two brothers-in-law, Orin Donath and Roy Remich.
As per Bernice's wishes there will be no memorial service or reception. Memorials in Bernice's name may be given to Kathy Hospice or the charity of your choice. Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral & cremation Service is assisting the family.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of Kathy Hospice for all the loving care extended to Bernice during her long stay there.
