Bernice F. Kumrow, nee Feiten, 83, of West Bend, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the Aurora Medical Center in Hartford.
She was born on September 5, 1924 in West Bend to the late Matthew and Elizabeth (nee Hausner) Feiten. She graduated from West Bend High School in 1942. On May 29, 1948 she was united in marriage to Robert O. Kumrow at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.
Bernice worked for a short time at Enger-Kress prior to having children. She then devoted her time to being a wonderful wife and mother, raising her two sons.
She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish and the Young at Heart club. She was also an active volunteer of The Threshold Auxiliary for many years.
She enjoyed attending functions with her husband at the Moose Lodge and the Knights of Columbus. She also enjoyed traveling to many service management conventions with Robert. Bernice had many friends. She was liked by everyone and she always had a ready smile for anyone she met.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Ken (Beth) Kumrow of Menomonee Falls, and Steve (Penny) Kumrow of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Scott Kumrow, Tammy Kumrow, Stephanie (Mike) Milosevich, and Craig Kumrow; a sister-in-law, Doris Fisher of West Bend; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lila (John) Heid and Odela (John) Wagner; and two brothers-in-law, Arnold (Fern) Kumrow and Bernard Fisher.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Rev. Jeffrey Haines of St. Frances Cabrini Parish will officiate and burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
