Bernice A. Scheunemann (Nee Schwandner), age 87, of West Bend, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.
She was born on June 15, 1922 to the late William and Emma (nee Holthusen) Schwandner in the town of Brillion.
On September 1, 1945 Bernice was united in marriage to Erwin A. Scheunemann at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. Together they lived and worked on Erwin's family homestead farm in the town of Jackson. They retired from farming in 1995.
Bernice was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend.
She leaves behind many loving family members; three children, Roger (Deborah) Scheunemann of Lomira, Ruth Ann Scheunemann of West Bend, and Roy (Cynthia) Scheunemann of Ste. Genevieve, MO; two grandchildren, Sara Scheunemann of Marian, IN, and Jarrod (Jessica) Scheunemann of Champagne, IL; one great-granddaughter, Cadence Rose Scheunemann; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erwin; a brother, Ralph Schwandner; two sisters-in-law, Elma (George) Haas, and Doris (Don) Jennings; and a brother-in-law, Wilmer Scheunemann.
Funeral services in honor of Bernice will be held on Saturday, March 20th at 11:30 am at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Avenue, West Bend. Rev. Rob Donaldson will officiate and burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Brillion. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 pm and Saturday at the church at 10:30 am until the time of the service.
Memorials to Cedar Lake Health Care Center are appreciated. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Countryside at Cedar Lake Health Care Center for the care given to Bernice.
