Betty J. Marialke, 83, of the town of Auburn, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.
She was born on September 18, 1931, in Kewaskum, the daughter of the late Timothy and Frieda (Schmidt) Otto, and she was united in marriage to Roman Stern. Roman preceded Betty in death on May 19, 1962. On November 12, 1966, Betty was united in marriage to Robert Marialke at Mt. Lebanon Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Robert preceded Betty in death on November 22, 1999.
Betty was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. She enjoyed the delicate, detailed work of making sugar ornaments for Christmas and Easter and gave many ornaments as gifts. She also enjoyed listening to polka music.
Those Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory include three children, Merlin Stern of the town of Auburn, Steven (Kathy) Stern of the town Farmington and Julie Stern of the town of Scott; six grandchildren, Scott (Amy) Stern, Doug (Kelly) Stern, Tim (Lynn) Stern, Brad Stern, Robert (Melissa) Stern and Lisa (Chad) Ebert; eight great-grandchildren, Sydney, Sam, Spencer, Jack, Benjamin and John Stern, Braden and Brittney Ebert; a sister, Shirley Stern of the town of Farmington; a nephew, Tom Stern of the town of Farmington, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husbands and parents, Betty was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Otto; two brothers-in-law, Harold Stern and Edward Marialke; a sister-in-law, Helen (Ben) Schmidt and a nephew, Mike Stern.
Funeral services for Betty were held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014, at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum. Rev. Timothy Henning officiated and burial followed in Pine Lawn Cemetery in Milwaukee.
Betty's family greeted relatives and friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
Betty's family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center and Agnesian Hospice Hope for the compassionate and tender care provided to Betty.
