Betty L. Reul, 97, of Random Lake, passed away on June 2, 2024, at her daughter’s house surrounded by her family.
Betty was born on January 21, 1927, in Batavia, the daughter of the late Adolph and Aurelia (nee Hetzel) Zimmerman. On October 25, 1947, she was united in marriage to Howard Reul at St. John’s UCC in Random Lake. Howard preceded Betty in death on May 18, 1992. Betty found delight in engaging in sheepshead games with her friends and relatives. Her pastimes included gardening and fishing alongside her loved ones. Together, Howard and Betty were proprietors of a charming retreat situated on Mole Lake. Professionally, Betty was committed to Times Printing, where she served diligently for more than four decades, starting as a folder operator before advancing to the quality control department. However, her greatest pleasure was the time spent with her family during the weekends.
Those Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory include four children, Linda Kirst, Mary Serna, Susie Depies, and Mike Reul; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Joe Krebsbach; two sisters-in-law, Doris Krahn and Jeanie Ripley; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharyn Krebsbach; her sons-in-law, Miquel Serna and Bob Depies; her sisters and brother, Ione Bubb, Bernice (Ray) Scholler, and Dick (Barb) Zimmerman; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin Reul, LaVerne (Roy) Remich, Mildred (Orin) Donath, Bernice Kastner, Adrian Krahn, Inez (Vernon) Staege, and Al Ripley.
VISITATION: Betty’s family will greet relatives and friends at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 98 Random Lake Road in Random Lake, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m.
SERVICE: A service for Betty will be held at St. John’s UCC on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Eric Kirkegaard will officiate and burial will follow at Random Lake Union Cemetery.
