Beverly R. Bertram

April 15, 1927 — August 6, 2011

Beverly R. "Bev" Bertram, nee Schaller, was born to eternal life August 6, 2011.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Bonnie Bertram and B.J. (John) Plant, and loving son, Blair (Barbara) Bertram, grands and special greatgrands, Storm, Koal, and Bailey, nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends, and special family friend, Carl Ziegler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce, daughter, Barbara, parents Adolph "Fred" and Jean Schaller, and brothers, Donald Schaller and Warren Schaller.

Bev grew up in Waukesha and maintained friendships with her classmates from Union School and Waukesha High School, and proudly attended her 65th high school reunion in September last year.  Bev lived abroad throughout Bruce's career in the Foreign Service, made friends easily and was know to say "home is where you hang your hat."

Bev loved her family and especially looked forward to annual reunions in Ephraim, Door County.  In N. Fort Myers, Florida, where she and Bruce retired, she made lasting friendships with neighbors and her church family at Messiah Lutheran Church.

In 2009, Bev returned to Wisconsin and moved to West Bend where she and Bruce had raised their family. She enjoyed her home at Cedar Ridge Apartments, wonderful new neighbors, friends and staff, and her new church, St. Luke Lutheran Church, Slinger.

Over the past two years she faced cancer with God's grace and an indomitable positive attitude, "I'm fine, no complaints."

Many thanks for your loving support to her friends at Elmbrook Cancer Support Group, Cedar Hospice, especially Carol and Liz, Pastor Matthew "Matt" Short, St. Luke Lutheran Church, Slinger, and Pastor Rusty May, Messiah Lutheran Church, North Fort Myers, FL

A memorial service to celebrate Bev's life will be held at Cedar Ridge Apartments, Grand Hall, 2nd floor, on Tuesday August 9th at 10:30 a.m. followed by an informal luncheon.

If desired, memorials are appreciated to Cedar Community Foundation, West Bend, St. Luke Lutheran Church, Slinger, and Messiah Lutheran Memorial Fund, N. Fort Myers, FL.

We'll "give it a whirl" Mom.
