Beverly Johnson

Beverly Johnson, nee Barnes, 82, of Slinger, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center, West Bend.

She was born June 6, 1929 in Richland Center to the late Roy and Mona (nee Wanless) Barnes. After graduating from Richland Center High School, Beverly earned her undergraduate degree at UW-Stevens Point and later earned her Master's Degree at UW-Milwaukee. Beverly married Robert Johnson on August 18, 1951 in Stoughton.

Beverly taught Home Ec. at Rosholt High School for one year until moving to Slinger in 1952. She began her career at Slinger High School teaching Home Ec. for ten years and then was a Guidance Counselor for the next 37 years, until retiring in 1999.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; a son, Kym (Sue) Johnson; a grandson, Cory Johnson; two brothers, Dean (Mary) Barnes and Wayne (Jean) Barnes; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services in remembrance of Beverly will be held on Wednesday, January 25 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 4860 Arthur Road, Slinger. Rev. Matthew Short will officiate and burial will follow in Slinger Union Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
