Carmen M. Olsen, nee Boldig, 77, of West Bend, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2006 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee.
She was born on Dec. 16, 1928 in the town of Larrabee, Waupaca County, to the late Lester and Inez (nee Kessen) Boldig. She worked as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for several years, retiring in August 1995. Carmen was an active member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend, where she served on the consistory and was a member of the choir.
She is survived by five children, Carla (Ralph) Gengler of Campbellsport, Catherine (Special Friend Dean Harthum) Engel of West Bend, David (Beth) Olsen of West Bend, Alan (Kathleen) Olsen of Germantown, and Andrea Olsen of Grafton; three grandchildren, Krista (Matt) Dwyer of Kewaskum, Anthony (Gretchen) Engel of Hartford, and Mariana (Jeff) Tetzlaff of West Bend; two great-grandchildren, Cayden Dwyer and Rylie Dwyer; three sisters, Marie Leach of Neenah, Joan (James) Harmon of Oshkosh, and Sharon Spaeth of West Bend; a brother, Franklin "Bud" (Phyllis) Boldig of Appleton; her former husband, Robert J. Olsen of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Kay McLaughlin, Inez Tieterman, and Jean Ripani, and two brothers, Maurice Boldig and Dale Boldig.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ (501 Walnut St., West Bend) with Rev. James Eckblad officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Cremation will follow at Myrhum - Patten Funeral & Cremation Service of West Bend.
