Carol M. Laux, nee Althaus, 81, of West Bend, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.
She was born on August 2, 1923 in West Bend to the late Carl and Dorothy (nee Richter) Althaus. Carol graduated from West Bend High School in 1941. She was united in marriage to Vernon Laux on October 17, 1953 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. Carol and her husband owned and operated the Rocky Run Cranberry Marsh in Harshaw from 1955 to 1982. Her husband preceded her in death on June 21, 1988.
Carol was an active member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend.
She is survived by a brother, Ralph Althaus of West Bend; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Althaus of West Bend, and Mildred Behnke of Brillion; two brothers-in-law, Harold (Olive) Laux and Ralph (Lois) Laux, both of Random Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Althaus and Paul Althaus.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 5 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend. Rev. George Mumm will officiate and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
