Carol E. (Walters) Sedgwick

Carol E. Sedgwick (nee Walters), 89, of Campbellsport passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021.

She was born on January 16, 1932 to the late Edgar and Ruth (nee Degner) Walters in Athens, WI. Carol grew up on the family farm in Athens. She graduated from Menomonee Falls High School. On July 28, 1951 she was united in marriage to Donald Sedgwick at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls. Together they owned and operated Wiskow Shoe Store in Milwaukee and then moved to Kewaskum to run The Village Bootery for many years. Carol enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, and cutting the grass. She was a fabulous cook. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Those Carol leaves behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 70 years, Donald Sedgwick; two children, Craig (Meg) Sedgwick and Brian (Tracy) Sedgwick; five grandchildren, Emily (Jens MacAller) Sedgwick, Nathan Sedgwick, Kendall Sedgwick, Kyle Sedgwick, and Kevin Sedgwick; a brother, Calvin (Joyce) Walters; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Sedgwick, Pat Walters, and Carol Walters; two brothers-in-law, Tom Wenzel and Tom Schleif; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Dr. Julie Sedgwick; four sisters, Jean (Melvin) Mathiak, Betty Wenzel, Marion (John) Bandy, and Grace Schleif; and two brothers, Charles Walters and Allen Walters.

A funeral service in remembrance of Carol will be held on Wednesday, November, 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace United Church of Christ, 343 First St., Kewaskum. Burial will follow service at Sunny Side Cemetery in Lannon, WI.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
