Beechwood

Carol L. (Schladweiler) Vetter, 77, of Beechwood, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Compassionate Heights Assisted Living Facility in Beechwood with her loving family by her side.

She was born on January 24, 1948, in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Jerome and Margaret (Dahm) Schladweiler and on July 29, 1967, she was united in marriage to Gerald (Jerry) Vetter at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Michaels.

Carol's working career spanned 53 years between Regal Ware/West Bend Company, as well as working on the family farm. Carol was a proud union member and longtime Union President of the United Steelworkers Union Local 850, retiring in 2013.

Carol enjoyed playing and coaching Beechwood girls’ softball, driving her UTV around the neighborhood and visiting with the neighbors, playing sheepshead, deer hunting, and spending time at the cabin up north. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. They meant everything to her. Carol lived life wholeheartedly and displayed passion in everything that she did. She enjoyed sharing her time with her beloved feline friend, Sammy. Carol will be deeply missed by her family and by all who knew her.

Those Carol leaves behind to cherish her memory include Carol's two children, Jerry (Christine) Vetter of Plymouth, and Brenda Miller (special friend Dale Hubing) of Random Lake; five grandchildren, Wyatt Miller, Zachary and Lucas Vetter, Taylor and Brady Ludvik; brother, Jerome Jr. (Anita) Schladweiler of Kewaskum; sisters, Helen (Floyd) Kertscher of Armstrong, Mary Vrana of West Bend, JoAnne (Greg) Arndt of Random Lake, and Joyce Nelson of Plymouth; four sisters-in-law, Jeaneen (John) Kudek of Kewaskum, Gloria (Joseph) Boden of Black River Falls, Gelane (Carl) Firme of Sun Prairie, Elaine (Frank) Poos of Beechwood, Diane Jaeger of Campbellsport, and Jeannette Vetter of Illinois; one brother-in-law, Dale Vetter of Kewaskum; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband Jerry; her mother- and father-in-law, Leland and Vivian Vetter; her brother, Harold Schladweiler; brothers-in-law, Timothy (Butch) Vrana, Gary Nelson, Dennis Vetter, and Jack Jaeger; and nephew, Joey Boden.

A private funeral service for Carol will be held according to her wishes.
