Carole L. Jacob (nee Barr), 85, of Theresa was called to be with the Lord on Monday, February 19, 2018.
She was born on July 5, 1932 to the late Charles and Constance (nee Braun) Barr in Milwaukee WI. She graduated from West Division High School in Milwaukee. Carole met Donald at the War Memorial bridge and he was smitten by her beauty and told his friend “that’s the girl I’m going to marry”. On May 22, 1950 she was united in marriage to Donald Jacob in Winnebago, Illinois. Together they raised their seven children.
Carole then worked as a school secretary at Central Office for Milwaukee Public Schools for many years and loved her job. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milwaukee and later St. Theresa in Theresa. Carole was a Lector for many years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and making ceramics even placing 1st for her Christmas quilt at the county fair. She loved all animals especially cats.
In retirement Carole and Don traveled extensively visiting all 50 states and parts of Canada. Carole was a great cook and put on many feasts for family and friends. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and especially enjoyed spending time with them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Those Carole leaves behind to cherish her memory include five children, Debra (Marty Solorzano) Jacob, Robert Jacob, Michael (Lyndy) Jacob, Nancy Jacob, and Steven (Carol) Jacob; a daughter-in-law, Carol Jacob; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer (Bob) Huber, Teresa (Dave) McAlpine , Thomas Jacob, Marsha (Jose) Hernandez, Shawn (Karina) Jacob, Carrie ( Clem) Smith, Tony Jacob, Mary Jacob, Jordan Jacob, Matthew ( Casey) Jacob, Sarah Jacob and Nathan Jacob; nine great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Vanessa, Tavion, Briana, Ethan, Zachary, Bianca, Autumn, and Annabelle; a sister, Barbara Kazik; a niece, Danielle Baerwald; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Jacob; two son, Donald and Richard Jacob; a brother-in-law, Erv Kazik; and a niece, Lynn Kazik.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 102 Church St.,Theresa.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of The Holy Mass.
